Headlight Restoration Auckland

Headlight lenses go yellow and cloudy because the factory UV coating breaks down. Cutting that layer back and sealing the lens restores the light output and takes years off how the car reads.

Inclusions

What Headlight Restoration Involves

  • Lenses Assessed

Surface hazing responds well. Lenses that have crazed internally do not, and we will say so before starting.

  • Surrounding Paint Masked

The panels around the light are protected before any abrasive work begins.

  • Oxidised Layer Cut Back

The failed UV layer is removed through progressive stages rather than polished over.

  • Lens Polished Back To Clarity

  • Sealed Against UV

Without a new protective layer the lens simply yellows again, so sealing is part of the job, not an upsell.

Why Titan

Why Hazy Headlights Are Worth Fixing

  • Auckland's only no drainage detailing system
  • 1,500+ vehicles completed across Auckland
  • Gtechniq accredited and certified

A clouded lens scatters the beam instead of projecting it. The bulb is doing the same work, but far less of that light lands on the road where you need it, which is most noticeable on unlit roads in winter.

It is also the single cheapest thing that changes how old a car looks. Clear lenses on a ten year old car do more for the front of it than a full polish does.

Most restorations fail because whoever did it polished the lens and stopped. Without sealing, the bare polycarbonate is exposed to UV again and goes yellow within months.

How It Works

Which Lenses Actually Come Back

Three states we see on Auckland cars, and the honest answer on each one.

Clear headlight lens and glossy black bodywork after detailing

What Ab Checks First

Comes Back Clear

The factory UV layer has broken down on the outside of the lens and gone milky. That layer is what gets cut back through progressive stages and then sealed, and it is the majority of what we see on Auckland cars.

Lenses are assessed at your address before anything starts. If yours is the third kind, Ab will say so on the day rather than cut back a lens that is never going to come clear.

Booked the complete detail for our Highlander and Ab came to us in Manukau. Car came back better than the day we bought it, and the fact they can do the full wash on the driveway without the runoff issue sold it for us.

Had the pre-sale detail done before listing my Golf. The paint correction made a huge difference in the photos and I ended up getting more than I was asking. Worth every cent.

On the monthly membership now and it is the best thing I have done. They turn up, the car is spotless, I do not have to think about it. Interior always comes up like new.

Ab talked me out of the package I asked for and recommended something cheaper that actually suited the car. Not what I expected and it is why I have been back twice since.

Headlights on my Corolla were completely yellow. They came to my work in the city, did them in the carpark, and the difference driving home at night was immediate.

The team did a full detail and cut and polish on my ute. Paint had swirls all through it from years of the wrong wash. Looks like a different vehicle now. Proper job.
